The Jura Creek debris-flood mitigation project, located upstream of Highway 1A, is designed to protect the hamlet of Exshaw and Highway 1A from debris flood events from the 300 to 1000 year recurrence interval. Construction is tentatively planned to start in July, 2021 subject to pending regulatory approvals.

At the March 30, 2021 Public information session questions were asked regarding the availability of the third party review undertaken by BGC Engineering Inc. for the Jura Creek preliminary design. The BGC third party review and Golder Associates response to that review are available below. It is important to review both documents in their entirety to understand how they relate to the preliminary design of the Jura Creek Flood-Debris Mitigation project.
