Robert (Bob) Alexander Steele was born in 1931 in Galgary, Alberta. Worked on the Barrier Dam in Kananaskis in 1946 as a general laborer and lead towards his career in construction. Robert and his family loved visiting Banff and were avid skiers. They obtained property lease outside of the Banff Park Gates through a draw, they picked three draws, and they were able to lease a Lot for $50 per year and build a summer/ski cottage. Later this Lot became part of the Hamlet of Harvie Heights, and the province sold each lease for around $250.
