Engineering Services

Municipal District selects Golder Associates for the Engineering Services on Exshaw Creek and Jura Creek (long-range) Debris-Flood Risk Reduction-October 22, 2015

Municipal District Council has awarded the engineering services contract for the long-range debris-flood risk reduction on Exshaw Creek and Jura Creek to Golder Associates, working with Morrison Hershfield engineering of Calgary.

Funding

The Municipal District received $2 million in Alberta Community Resiliency Program (ACRP) funding for the engineering services related to the two creeks: it is anticipated the funding will cover the actual construction costs of the reinforced/relocated protective berm just west of Jura Creek, and the detailed design of long-range measures to lower the risk of flooding on Exshaw Creek. Once that design is complete and accepted, it will form the basis of a second application to the ACRP for the actual construction costs.

Golder will commence the project shortly, and will be involving the community and stakeholders in the process. Notices and updates on the project will be provided on this website, as the work progresses.
