Bighorn Community Services department combines the areas of Community Supports, Culture, Parks and Recreation and Trails. Its focus is on supporting and enhancing the lives of Bighorn residents through programs and resources.

Under the advisement of the Community Services Board, the Community Services Coordinator works with organizations and individuals within our broad community to build capacity, foster connections and act as a facilitator for new projects and programs.

 

The MD is served by 211 – call 24/7 for access to community and social supports information and referrals

Please be extra vigilant about securing your property and watching for any suspicious activity in your area please keep an eye on your neighbors places as well.

Community Services Master Plan

The Community Services Master Plan (CSMP) is the guiding document for the provision of community services within the MD of Bighorn. The CSMP directs the activities of the Community Services Department in the areas of Culture, Family and Community Support Services, Sport and Recreation (including leisure programs, open spaces, parks, playgrounds, municipal reserves and trails).

MD of Bighorn VISION STATEMENT To continue to enjoy a high quality of life within a rural municipality that celebrates its heritage and protects and enhances its beautiful natural environment, and that is supported by a diverse and sustainable economy.

Community Services MISSION STATEMENT The MD of Bighorn Community Services Board acts as an advocate for community service needs. It encourages and supports community driven projects and activities that enhance the quality of life of MD residents.
