FireSmart fuel reduction work has commenced on the Back 40 Recreation Lease to reduce the threat of wildfire to life and property in the area.
No one is allowed on-site where falling equipment, chain-saws, or mulching equipment is operating as per OH&S Legislation.
The project commenced November 21, 2017 and will be completed by January 15, 2018.
The project includes FireSmart recommended standards including:

Debris will be mulched onsite. Firewood will be piled at the edge of trails for residents to remove by obtaining TFA and TM66 permits.
REMEMBER **Please stack firewood as far away from your house as possible to reduce the fuel load next to your house**
After this FireSmart work is completed and the report has been finalised a public information session will be held on Saturday February 24 at the Waiparous Community Services Building. This event will be organised by the Back 40 and SVW FireSmart Committees.
