  1. Ghost Hikers - Walks in the Watershed Series; Lake Minnewanka through hike

    August 19, 2018, 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM @ Ghost Lake Dam car park

Annual ‘swap-the-keys’ hike along Lake Minnewanka. We need two groups of at least four people each, it looks as if we already have a dozen to make this a go! It’s a fantastic, though long hike. We meet at the Ghost Lake Dam Car Park (5km West of the Highway 40 turnoff on the 1A) at 8AM and agree plans. One group proceeds to the end of the TransAlta Road, crossing the Ghost River on foot, entering the National Park and on towards Banff; the other group drives to the Lake Minnewanka Car Park via Banff and walks the other way. Lunch is enjoyed beside the lake when the groups meet. This is a long hike, about 35km, finishing in the mid-evening but not to be missed if you are up to it. The gradients are moderate and not rising much above lake level. Leaders are Ted Jones, Heinz Unger, Connie Simmons and George Halmanza. Please advise if you will be attending, so that we can make plans
